4th/5th Grade-Extension 504

I am excited to be celebrating my 16th year in education this year! This is my 13th year teaching at LaMotte as well! I am originally from Bozeman. I hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.I am honored to have achieved National Board Certification the fall of 2013. This was a professional development project that took me about two years to complete.

I am proud to be part of the 2014 PBS Digital Innovator program. I am among 100 teachers who got to participate in this professional development program during the 2104-15 school year. This program will help me further my passion for technology integration.

I am also a Certified BrainPOP Educator as well as a professional development advisor for BrainPOP. I have worked with a team of teachers at BrainPOP for two years to help develop training matierals for using the website.

I was named a Finalist for Montana Teacher of the Year in September of 2016.

I have been teaching in the primary grades for most of my teaching career. I am excited to be moving to the 4th and 5th grade classroom this year. Working with older students has been a professional goal of mine for a long time.

Outside of school I am a proud wife and mother. My husband, Joe, and I have been married for nearly eight years now. We enjoy hiking, fishing and hunting together. Our daughter Jessica is six and attends LaMotte School. Our son Riley is over a year old now.

It is a pleasure to be a part of the LaMotte staff for another year. I truly believe our corner of the Valley is home to some of the greatest staff and students in Montana!
